Every collection has a keeper, and ours is Lucy. For years she has gathered manuscripts on transformation, cosmology, and the old alchemical arts, searching for the volumes that don't just inform but change the reader who holds them. Grey Matter began as her personal shelf — books she couldn't stop returning to, annotated in the margins, dog-eared from midnight reading. What you find in our bookstore today is that same shelf, opened to you. She doesn't select books by trend or bestseller list. She selects them by whether they earned a place beside the candle on her own desk. That is the standard behind every title we carry.
