Journey to the Center of the Mind: A Psilocybin Trip Report
by Anonymous Member
A first-person account of a high-dose psilocybin journey and the ego dissolution that followed.
I ate 5 grams of dried mushrooms on an empty stomach, alone in my apartment, with a blindfold and a carefully chosen playlist. I had done 2 grams before and found it pleasant but manageable. I was not prepared for what 5 grams would do.
At about the 40-minute mark, the room began to breathe. Then the walls dissolved. Then I dissolved. There was no panic — there was no one left to panic. What remained was a vast, dark, warm space that I can only describe as the inside of everything. I was not watching it; I was it. There was no time. There was no 'me.' There was just being, in a way I had never experienced and cannot adequately describe.
When I came back — slowly, over what I later learned was 3 hours — I was crying. Not from sadness. From the recognition that I had been carrying a weight I didn't know was there, and it was gone. The next morning, the world looked the same and completely different. That was 8 months ago. I still feel it. I meditate now. I am kinder. I do not know if the change will last, but I know the experience was real, and I know it showed me something I had been too defended to see.
